Run

I couldn’t believe it myself.

I was looking through Pat Green albums trying to find the right song for the Yellow Jackets and there it was, the eighth song on his Wave by Wave album, a song called “Run.”

Honestly, is there a better song than that for Georgia Tech?

The team ranks second nationally in yards per game, just right behind Navy who rushed for 421 yards this past weekend. They also rank third in total rushing yards despite not playing a game earlier this year because of Hurricane Irma.

Against North Carolina, they ran some more. Georgia Tech finished the game with 403 rushing yards on 66 attempts, that’s a 6.1 average per attempt. Teams know the Yellow Jackets are running and they still run it down their throats.

Georgia Tech got a huge game from Taquon Marshall, who leads the ACC, and is 14th nationally, in yards per game.

The Junior finished with 137 rushing yards and a touchdown, giving him nine on the year, which also leads the ACC and is tied for second nationally.

Marshall was aided by the running of KirVonte Benson who also finished with over 100 yards rushing and a touchdown. Benson averaged 7.1 yards per attempt. This is the second straight game that both Marshall and Benson rushed for over 100 yards each.

Georgia Tech will look to run more in two weeks when they take on Miami. The game was originally scheduled for next Thursday but got pushed by Hurricane Irma. The Yellow Jackets will gladly take the extra time to prepare for the big Coastal Showdown.
