2017 ACC Football: Coastal Division Power Rankings week 4
Summertime Blues
Pitt is probably wishing it was still the summertime after the way this season has started.
It should’ve been a bit of a sign when the Panthers had to hold on the beat Youngstown State in overtime to start the season but teams are known to struggle against FCS teams to start the year.
However, the team that was picked fourth by most and even to make a bowl game, has been blown out in its past three contests.
Even a change from transfer Max Browne to the more dynamic quarterback Ben Dinucci wasn’t enough to make a difference.
The Panthers have been outscored 127-52 in those three games and have been out-gained 1472-968. Additionally, they have turned the ball over six times and are averaging just over 17 first downs a game.
Pittsburgh is going to need to hope some things start clicking and fast or they are going to be in a lot deeper rut than just the Summertime blues. The Panthers will look to end their losing streak when they welcome in Rice this week.
The Owls are 1-3 and maybe just what Pitt needs to get back on track.
