UNC in NFL: Tracking Tar Heels performances in Week 2
By Grant Hughes
Eric Ebron: Tight End, Detroit Lions.
After hauling in a measly two receptions for nine yards in Week 1, Ebron got back on track in Week 2.
Ebron gave his fantasy owners something to cheer about by posting a top-seven performance among tight ends.
The fourth-year tight end hauled in 5 receptions for 42 yards and a touchdown in a win over the Giants.
Ebron took advantage of second-year safety Darian Thompson and skied for his first touchdown since Week 1 of the 2016 season.
This performance came in a homecoming for Ebron as he hails from nearby Newark New Jersey.
As Ebron was catching balls in primetime, former teammates and UNC athletes took to Twitter with some nice words.
UNC and Detroit Lions fans alike can only hope this game is a foreshadow of what is to come.
Ebron hasn’t been able to put it all together thus far in his NFL career and has not lived up to his draft status.
As an athletic freak and one of the most prolific tight ends in the history of the ACC, Ebron was expected to take the league by storm.
Hopefully, Ebron can continue to be a matchup problem for opposing defenses and live up to his immense potential.
