Myles Wolfolk

The North Carolina Tar Heels defense struggled to force turnovers in 2016, recording just one interception on the year.

Through three games in 2017, the Tar Heels have already surpassed that mark. UNC has three on the year including two in their opener.

The latest one came on Saturday against Old Dominion.

Sophomore defensive back Myles Wolfolk recorded his first career interception on Saturday, a big moment in his young career.

Wolfolk made the interception on a diving attempt which was reviewed and the call stood on the field.

It gave UNC another turnover for the year.

The Maryland native was actually committed to Virginia Tech but flipped to UNC giving the Tar Heels a big commitment in their secondary.

Wolfolk entered the season projected as the starting nickelback according to Fedora but he suffered an injury in training camp.

The 6-foot defensive back hopes to build off of Saturday’s turnover and provide a boost to UNC’s defense which features standouts Donnie Miles, Myles Dorn and M.J. Stewart.

UNC faces a tough passing attack with the Duke Blue Devils coming into town this weekend, so it will be another big test for the secondary.
