UNC got their first win of the 2017 college football season on Saturday after opening with two-straight losses

The previous two helmet sticker segments on Keeping It Heel have been after losses but now we finally have one after a win!

UNC opened its season by losing to both Cal and Louisville, dropping to 0-2 on the year. But now they are in the win column and hope to keep this thing going.

The Tar Heels got on the board first in Saturday’s game, jumping out to a 25-0 lead early in the second quarter and they never looked back.

They looked sharp on offense with Chazz Surratt making his second-straight start. The run game was good led by Jordon Brown’s big day and the receivers as well as the tight ends all made a big difference.

There were still some things that need to be fixed, including a few long plays by the Monarchs but overall it was a well-played game for UNC.

Now they turn their attention to their hated rivals down the road as Duke comes into Chapel Hill for the Victory Bell Game.

It will be the earliest this rivalry has been played with the teams meeting in Week 4. They usually meet in early November.

But before we move on to that, let’s see who earned our helmet stickers for the win over Old Dominion.
