Green Green Grass of Home

Last season Pitt was victorious over the former rival Penn State Nittany Lions playing in comforts of their home stadium. This year traveling to State College, the Panthers were not so successful.

Sometimes the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

Pitt ran into the same troubles it did in the opener against Youngstown State. Max Browne continued to be ineffective as a starter throwing for less than 150 yards for the second consecutive week. He even threw two picks this week.

He was also outperformed by his backup when Browne went out with an injury. Ben Dinucci finished 5-for-9 for 49 yards with a touchdown run for the Panthers. Coach Narduzzi says Browne is his starter, but that may not last long.

The Panthers also struggled against the pass allowing three passing touchdowns from Trace McSorely a week after allowing the Penguins to pass for over 300 yards. They also couldn’t contain Saquan Barkley but honestly who can.

Things do not look to get any easier for the Panthers who do return home this week but will face Oklahoma State. Quarterback Mason Rudolph has already thrown for 638 yards this season and must be licking his chops for this game.
