Feel that Fire

Fire is definitely what the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats are feeling after Miami ran over them to the tune of 41-13.

Mark Walton brought that fire rushing for 148 yards and two touchdowns against the overmatched FCS opponent. New quarterback Malik Rosier also brought that fire with 217 passing yards and three touchdowns.

The Wildcats probably felt the most fire though from the Hurricane defense that held them to 355 total yards and forced two turnovers.

It still may be another week before we find out how good Miami truly is when they travel to Tallahassee to take on Florida State. However ,before that, they do have to travel to Arkansas State to face former UNC offensive coordinator Blake Anderson.

The Red Wolves are 0-1 after losing by seven at Nebraska and would love to make the Hurricanes feel the fire in Jonesboro this weekend.

Well that does it for this round of rankings. Before I sign off here is how I rank the entire ACC after one week (Coastal teams in bold, rankings movement in parentheses):

  1. Clemson Tigers (+1)
  2. Florida State Seminoles (-1)
  3. Miami Hurricanes (+1)
  4. Virginia Tech Hokies (+3)
  5. Louisville Cardinals (-2)
  6. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (+4)
  7. Syracuse Orange (+2)
  8. Pittsburgh Panthers (-3)
  9. NC State Wolfpack (-1)
  10. Duke Blue Devils (+4)
  11. Wake Forest Demon Deacons (0)
  12. Virginia Cavaliers (0)
  13. North Carolina Tar Heels (-7)
  14. Boston College Eagles

Some changes of course, but again, these rankings are fluid. I don’t worry about what a team may do, but what it has done. Anyways week two will be here before we know it, so relax, because the season has just begun.
