Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go)

Is there really any other way to describe Coach Bronco Mendenhall and the Virginia Cavaliers?

Any win is a plus for this program after a 2-0 start and after beating FCS opponent William and Mary, they have two more home games against two FBS opponents who went a combined 9-16 last year.

Virginia’s offensive strength still relies on the success of Kurt Benkert who went 27-for-39 for 262 yards and three touchdowns against the Tribe. They still are working out the running back situation though getting only 100 yards on 27 carries from two different backs.

Up next for the Cavaliers is the second of their three winnable home games. This week they welcome in an Indiana squad that played Ohio State close for a half before getting blown away.

If the Hoosiers are still spinning from that loss, Virginia could be looking at starting 2-0 for the first time since 2012.
