North Carolina heads into the 2017 season with a lot of question marks surrounding their team.

The Tar Heels, who are less than two weeks away from their Sept. 2 opener against Cal, have different expectations heading into this season than they did last year at this time.

There are so many new faces on the offensive side of the ball, and so many returning faces on defense, something that is different than recent years.

There is no more Mitch Trubisky, Ryan Switzer, T.J. Logan or Elijah Hood. Who will the Tar Heels turn to?

Larry Fedora heads into his sixth season at the head of the North Carolina football program, and even though he has turned the program around, he has yet to keep it at a consistent top tier program.

With the ACC looking to be a very powerful conference this year, the Tar Heels need to play with confidence early on.

With the AP Poll being released yesterday, and Carolina not receiving a single vote, what does UNC have to do to make their way into the rankings as the season progresses?

Here are the five x-factors for Carolina heading into 2017, in no particular order.
