UNC’s new football jerseys were officially unveiled at Saturday’s “Meet the Heels” event in Chapel Hill

The University of North Carolina football program hosted its annual “Meet the Heels” event on Saturday, giving fans their first look at the upcoming football team.

But the 2017 team isn’t the only thing fans will get to see for the first time on Saturday.

Jordan Brand is officially unveiling the new uniforms for the upcoming season at the event with a special presentation.

UNC announced it would be the second college football team to be sponsored by Jordan Brand back in March, joining Michigan who switched over in 2016.

The program showed off three jerseys on Saturday featuring the Carolina Blue, White and the return of the fan favorite Navy jersey.

Each UNC jersey will have the Jordan Brand logo on the left chest above the heart. Check out some pictures of the new jerseys:

The jerseys are the latest in the Nike Mach Speed chassis series. That jersey is designed to help athlete’s movement and are made with minimal-seams, stretch woven materials and laser perforations.

As for the design, the jerseys feature the classic UNC argyle print on the collar and down the side of the pants.

The alternate navy jersey was inspired by practice shorts worn by Michael Jordan under his NBA uniform.

The official Carolina Football account periscoped the event as Athletic Director Bubba Cunningham opened the doors to the exhibit, allowing fans in. You can view that periscope here.

Game jerseys weren’t the only part of the jersey that changed. The Tar Heels practice helmets will be Carolina Blue with a white Jumpman logo on it:

In addition, plenty of new UNC x Jordan Brand gear has been created for fans and available to purchase via Nike’s official website.

The new jerseys will make their debut in the Tar Heels season opener against Cal on September 2nd in Chapel Hill.
