4. Sylvia Hatchell

Hall-of-Famer Sylvia Hatchell comes in at No. 4 on this list, and at most schools, she would be the clear-cut choice for No. 1.

Hatchell has spent 31 years at UNC, all of which have been amazing. Six of those 31 years she finished under .500, which is not bad, considering the tough schedule that the Tar Heels play year every season.

What moved Hatchell over Fox was her lone national championship in 1994. Hatchell coached that team to an incredible 33-2 record.

Coaching in an age with Geno Auriemma is not easy, but Hatchell has remained one of the greats in the game.

Some NCAA issues have deterred her success in recent years, but there is no debating Hatchell’s greatness on the bench. She will most likely win her 1,000th game next season, becoming only the fourth head coach to do so.

Hatchell can always find her name in the history books at UNC.
