Vince Carter wants to win a championship before he retires, and the Golden State Warriors could be a perfect fit for the 19-year NBA veteran.
What is the number one thing that every NBA player wants? They want a NBA Championship.
After 19 years of playing in the NBA, Carter may be headed to the Warriors. The former University of North Carolina player averages 18 points per game in his NBA career. Although Carter has been on a number of teams over the last few seasons, he may have finally found a contender that wants him.
On ESPN’s “The Jump” Carter expressed his interest in joining a championship caliber team before he retires. He also made it clear that he wants to contribute for said team, rather than ride the coat tails of a winner.
Although it has been said that he would take the veteran league minimum to sign with a contender. He denies that on the “Boomer and Carton” radio show.
Boomer Esiason asked Carter about the recent rumors to which the eight-time All-Star replied, “I am open to see what other teams have to say, I definitely want to be on a team where I can contribute.”
According to multiple reports, Carter isn’t the only one that is interested in joining the Warriors next season. Veteran Zach Randolph could also draw some interest as he’s looking to get a ring before he retires.
These would be great additions to the already star-studded Warriors, who have won two of the last three NBA Finals. If they added these two guys to the team, there could be another championship season on the horizon.
At 40-years-old, Carter is still a high-riser and a capable scorer. Stay tuned for more on Carter and his future in the NBA.
