Some vegas odds on over/under win totals for the North Carolina Tar Heels have been released

We are still in the middle of a few college sports seasons including lacrosse, baseball and softball but soon the attention will turn to college football.

As we hit the summer months, the focus will shift completely to the college football season as another year will be underway. As of today, there are under 100 days until kickoff.

For the North Carolina Tar Heels, it will be an interesting season. The team lost the majority of their offense with Mitch Trubisky, T.J. Logan, Elijah Hood, Mack Hollins, Bug Howard and Ryan Switzer all leaving for the NFL.

On the defensive side, UNC lost defensive coordinator Gene Chizik and will look to continue improving again in 2017.

The Tar Heels won’t be favored to win the ACC Coastal so it will be very interesting to see how they finish again this year.

They are just two years removed from one of the best seasons in program history when they reached the  ACC Championship Game.

As we gear towards the 2017 college football season, one Las Vegas sports book has released the over/under on win totals for teams.

For UNC, the M Resort has the total at 7.

Here’s a look at other ACC over/under:

  • Clemson 9
  • Duke 5 1/2
  • Florida State 9 1/2
  • Georgia Tech 6 1/2
  • North Carolina State 7 1/2
  • Pittsburgh 7 1/2
  • Miami 8 1/2
  • Virginia Tech 9
  • Louisville 9

As you can see, Vegas has Virginia Tech as the favorite in the Coastal followed by Miami and Pittsburgh. But after that, it’s almost a toss up.

UNC’s total is pretty interesting. They will host Cal to open the season and then Louisville at Kenan Memorial Stadium. After their first road game at Old Dominion, the Tar Heels will host Duke.

If they can come out of that four-game stretch with three wins, they will be in good shape.

The schedule gets tougher in their next five having to play at Georgia Tech, host Notre Dame  and Virginia but then play at Virginia Tech before returning home again against Miami.

That could be a stretch that makes or breaks their season.
