Lamarcus Aldridge

Another Texas guy, Lamarcus Aldridge would have been a monster in the North Carolina offense.

Aldridge played two seasons before Kevin Durant went to Texas, so we never got the opportunity to see them together. But chances are this would be one of the best one-two punches in college hoops since 2000.

Aldridge, still to this day, is a great back to the basket player, something that has always been a staple in the UNC offense.

Despite being from Texas, he openly accepted UNC in his recruitment. Carolina was always a real player due to their history of being able to develop good bigs.

Aldridge’s freshman season was the 2005 national championship season. Adding him to a front court of Sean May, Jawad Williams, and Marvin Williams would have been unfair!

Also, his sophomore season would have been Tyler Hansbrough’s freshman season. Talk about unstoppable, that would be one of the best one-two punches in UNC history.

His great back-to-the-basket game, rebounding, and shot-blocking ability would really have been something to watch at Carolina.

Had Aldridge ended up in baby blue, he undoubtedly would have been a fan favorite, and one of the greats.
