No. 9 – Jason Stanicek, UNC (1991-94)

Jason Stanicek has the most career wins by a starting UNC quarterback (24).

He also has the eighth-highest quarterback rating (QBR) in a season (145.8 in 1993). During the same season, Stanicek posted the second-highest single-game QBR by an UNC quarterback (263.48 against Maryland).

UNC’s offense posted the single-game record for most yards gained (714 yards; 9.7 yards per play) in the 59-42 win.

In addition, Stanicek has the seventh-highest career completion percentage (59.8%), ranks seventh in career passing yards (4,683), 10th in career passing efficiency rating (127.84) and has the 10th most touchdowns (26) as a UNC quarterback.

Stanicek is known for running the option to perfection. Still to this day, no other UNC quarterback has perfected the option like Stanicek.

No. 8 – Ronald Curry, UNC (1998-01)

Ronald Curry was a high-profile two-sport athlete when he attended North Carolina. In 1998, he was the No. 1 high school football and basketball player, coming out of Virginia.

Curry played both football and basketball at UNC.

He was the quarterback on the football team and a point guard on the basketball team. He is very well-known for his alley-oop pass to current NFL football player Julius Peppers during UNC’s 2000 Final Four season.

Curry ranks sixth in career passing yards (4,987), ninth in career passing touchdowns (28) and seventh in career completion percentage (34.5%).
