Class of 2017 UNC target Kevin Knox looks impressive in Wednesday’s McDonald’s All-American Game in Chicago
It’s almost time for class of 2017 five star recruit Kevin Knox to make his college decision but first, he had an all-star game to play in.
Knox was one of the top 24 high school basketball recruits to participate in the McDonald’s All-American Game held in Chicago, Illinois on Wednesday night.
The Tampa Bay native suited up for the East Team to finish off an exciting week.
Knox played 19 minutes in the game and he made all of them count. The prospect finished with 15 total points in a 109-107 loss and but he looked smooth when the ball was in his hands.
You could just tell that Knox didn’t let the spotlight get the best of him as he meshed well with his teammates, and in particular, Alabama commit Collin Sexton.
Knox received an incredible pass from Sexton and finished with a big slam:

The forward also showed off his versatility, playing solid defense and refusing to give up until the final buzzer. He did this in front of LeBron James, Rajon Rondo and Dwyane Wade who were all in attendance at the game.
For Knox, the next couple of weeks will be big. He’s expected to make his college decision in Mid-April, sometime around the Jordan Brand Classic in Brooklyn, New York.
Knox is down to UNC, Kentucky, Duke and Florida State with the Tar Heels rumored to be one of the favorites. But during the McDonald’s All-American Game festivities, Knox’s recruitment was the hot topic.
Recruits from Kentucky gave Knox special “BBN” cookies but the biggest news might be that Missouri is rumored to have entered the Knox sweepstakes as new recruit Michael Porter Jr. has talked to Knox about joining him.
Knox guarded Porter a few times during Wednesday’s game but the two together would give the Tigers a pair of elite wings.
The recruit spoke on all four teams and had some interesting stuff to say about the Tar Heels which we detailed here.
He also revealed what style best fits his play and it’s good news for UNC fans. Here’s what he said via 247 Sports:
"Just transition. Just getting out and running fast break. That’s something I really like to do. I can pretty much play any position. That’s something really good about Kentucky. They have a lot of players who can play any position and get rebounds and push the ball, so that’s basically what I like to do best."
Landing Knox would be a big get for the Tar Heels who have four star recruit Jalek Felton already signed. They also have recruits Sterling Manley, Andrew Platek and Brandon Huffman, but landing a five-star like Knox would be a key component.
