Tyler Hansbrough becomes the ACC’s All-Time Leading Scorer

Tyler Hansbrough broke several records during his four-year collegiate career at North Carolina.

One of his numerous accomplishments was becoming the ACC’s All-Time Leading Scorer during the 2009 NCAA Tournament.

North Carolina opened the tournament with Radford and Hansbrough made history.

With 15:43 left in the first half, Hansbrough made his first of two free throws (at the 1:31 mark in the video). The free throw made Hansbrough the ACC’s all-time leading scorer.

The 2009 NCAA title run was an impressive one for the Tar Heels. They defeated all of their opponents by at least 12 points.

In the 2009 National Championship Game, the Tar Heels defeated the Michigan State Spartans 89-72. Junior shooting guard Wayne Ellington was the Most Outstanding Player of the 2009 Final Four.

Tywon Lawson set records for most steals and most free throws made by any player in a national championship game.

Hansbrough was the undisputed leader of this championship team. Winning the national championship was the cherry on top to his highly decorated collegiate career.

What’s even more impressive is the fact that a Tar Heel passed a Blue Devil for this record. It is always a good day to be a Tar Heel (GDTBATH)!
