Chris Clarke was a valuable player on the Hokies, but was lost for the season to a torn ACL that he suffered against Virginia back in the mid-February. Before the injury, Clark was averaging 11.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game.

Clarke’s rebounds-per-game led the team. He was also top-10 in the ACC in true shooting percentage. This is the reason for the minutes requirements; to give a player like Chris Clarke an opportunity to still make this list, despite being fallen to injury.

Clarke’s best game came in a win over the Citadel on Saturday, December 17th. In that game Clarke had his only triple-double of the season. He finished with 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. He also had two steals.

Bonzie Colson really raised his game this season. The junior was the only player to average a double-double for the season and it garnered him first team All-ACC honors. Colson also finished third in the ACC Player of the Year voting.

On the season, Colson averaged 17 points, 10.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.1 steals per game. Colson led his team and the ACC in total rebounds. He also finished in the top-10 in the ACC in points and free throw attempts. Additionally he finished top-five in total blocks and in intangibles percentage.

Colson’s best game came in a win over Wake Forest on Tuesday, February 2nd. Colson pulled down his 15th double-double of the season by scoring 27 points and grabbing 16 rebounds. Colson also had five blocks, two assists, and two steals as he helped the Irish hold off the feisty Deacons.
