Donovan Mitchell is the leader of the Louisville Cardinals.

He capped on a great 2016-17 season by earning first-team All-ACC honors as a sophomore and can play both guard spots for the Cardinals.

He led the Cardinals by averaging15.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. Mitchell led Louisville to impressive wins over No. 7 Duke (78-69), No. 6 Kentucky (73-70), No. 15 Purdue (71-64), No. 16 (77-62) and No. 19 Notre Dame (71-64).

With Mitchell on the court, Louisville has proven that they can hang with any team in the nation. They have beaten several of the top teams this season.

Mitchell caught a lot of people by surprise this season. While other players received preseason fame and notoriety, Mitchell earned the respect of many with his hard play and display of leadership.

He led an underrated Louisville team that did not have a household name on their roster. Louisville has quietly become one of the best teams in the nation during the 2016-17 season.

Louisville poses a potential threat to win the ACC Tournament. Their track record shows that they are battle-tested. Mitchell’s versatility and athleticism make him an ideal player to explode during the ACC Tournament.

Expect big games from him. He is one of the most underrated players in the nation. It is safe to say that Mitchell is the best player you have never heard of.
