UNC- 79

Duke- 71

Player of the game: Tyler Hansbrough (17 points, 8 rebounds, 2-of-3 3PT)

Tyler Hansbrough’s time at UNC was filled with wins over Duke. After all, he did go 6-2 against Duke, including four wins at Hansbrough Indoo… excuse me Cameron Indoor.

This time was in Chapel Hill, and his last game against Duke was perhaps one of the sweetest. Hansbrough delivered yet again against Duke, going for 17 points, and eight rebounds to lead the Heels to a 79-71 victory.

During the game, Duke went into the half with a one-point lead, but the Heels were excellent in the second half. Ty Lawson continued his incredible junior season in that game. Lawson almost had a triple double, posting 13 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists. This game was a big time win for the Heels.

The Heels clinched the outright ACC Championship in this game, which they also have a chance to do on Saturday.

Also, the regular season finale against Duke that year was a win over a top ten team. That was something that gave the Heels a boost heading into March Madness. And of course, the Heels went on to win the NCAA title!
