Sage Surratt named Associated Press state Offensive Player of the Year

Over the weekend, Class of 2017 wide receiver Sage Surratt was named Offensive Player of the Year for the state of North Carolina by the Associated Press.

Surratt finished the season with 129 receptions for 2,104 yards and 28 touchdowns in addition to his work on the defensive side of the ball as a linebacker.

He’s only the second wide receiver to win the prestigious award since 1983.

Surratt, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound prospect out of East Lincoln High in Denver, North Carolina, is brother to current UNC backup quarterback Chazz Surratt. Chazz was named AP Offensive Player of the Year last season as well as an all-state basketball selection.

The star receiver is currently considering Duke, North Carolina and Wake Forest.
