2. Logan Byrd

Logan Byrd is a big, strong, pro-style quarterback who has the potential to be one of the best pocket passers to play at UNC. He’s a 6-foot-3, 235-pound true freshman from Kathleen, GA.

Mitch Trubisky was great at being able to sit back in the pocket and pick apart defenses, and Byrd can do that, too. Unlike Trubisky, Byrd doesn’t have the same agility to get outside of the pocket and keep plays alive with his feet.

Byrd would be a great quarterback for the Heels, especially if the offensive line provides him time to set his feet and throw. The only drawback for Byrd would be testing to see how his pocket passing abilities would transfer into Fedora’s up-tempo offense.

If Byrd can adjust like Trubisky has, he’ll have a really bright future ahead of him, much like Trubisky does.
