UNC in the NBA: November 2016 update on Tar Heels
Wayne Ellington, Miami Heat, shooting guard
Wayne Ellington averages 16 points per game this season. However, he’s played only three games due to a thigh injury he suffered earlier in the year.
Although he has been an NBA journeyman in his career, it seems as though he has found a home in Miami. Ellington ranks third in scoring for the Heat. He is making 56% of his field goals, 75% of his free throws and 47% of his three-pointers.
Although he’s played in just three games this season, Ellington averages close to 32 minutes per game. His highlight for November came against the Denver Nuggets. Ellington scored 14 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter.
This is clearly Ellington’s best season yet, so it seems. Hopefully, the 2009 Final Four Most Outstanding Player can build upon his recent great play.
