Visit the Michael Jordan statue in Chicago
Michael Jordan is arguably the greatest basketball player ever to live. He could also go down in history as the greatest North Carolina Tar Heel of all-time.
During his time in Chapel Hill, Jordan averaged about 18 points and 5 rebounds per game, while converting on 54% of his shots. Probably the most memorable college moment came in the 1982 NCAA Championship. Jordan hit the game-winning shot in that game to defeat a Georgetown Hoyas team led by Patrick Ewing.
Jordan went on to lead an incredibly successful NBA career. He will forever go down in history as a 6x NBA Champion, 14x NBA All-Star, 10x NBA Scoring Champion, the list goes on.
Jordan not only became one of the most successful basketball players in history, but also one of the most influential. Children with NBA aspirations looked up to Jordan, they wanted to “Be Like Mike”.
His influence on the game earned him a statue in Chicago. North Carolina fans need to make a point of visiting this monument at least once in their lifetime.
Jordan is most likely the biggest name ever to attend the University of North Carolina, fans can show their remembrance by visiting his statue outside the United Center.
