This rivalry is thick with hatred, mostly from the NC State side (though they would argue otherwise) due to the lopsided results of games played between the two programs throughout their histories. UNC leads the all-time series 153-77.

As a UNC fan attending an NC State game in Raleigh, be prepared for a hostile environment filled with ardent fans that are hungry for victory. Although Twitter can get ugly, most fans are respectful and all parties can have an enjoyable time watching these two longtime rivals face off for bragging rights within the state of North Carolina.

A game in Chapel Hill at the Dean Smith Center usually bodes well for the home crowd. The Tar Heels have only lost four games at the Smith Center since 1998.
