Have a man cave with UNC paraphernalia

This has been my dream ever since I was a little kid.

Being the eldest of the staff, I have older memories. When UNC won the national championship in 1993, I used to take all of my UNC paraphernalia and decorate my parent’s den with it. The game decorations consisted of Carolina t-shirts, my Carolina book bag (which was one of my prized possessions), my Carolina caps and shorts.

As I became older, I graduated from decorating my den with clothes and started collecting items. My UNC man cave is a work in progress. I moved mine into the garage, which will become modified. My man cave consist of every Sports Illustrated cover that featured a UNC basketball player (these are framed) and UNC posters.

In addition, I have autographed jerseys from two of my favorite Tar Heels, J.R. Reid (UNC ’89) and Eric Montross (UNC ’94). These jerseys will be framed.

Also, I have several Starting Lineup and McFarlane’s sports figurines that feature UNC basketball players in their professional jerseys, a singing Ramses figure that plays the UNC fight songs, UNC national championship sodas, UNC pom-poms, UNC throw blanket and UNC flags and banners.

Other essentials that will be on my list include a Carolina rug, autographed basketballs from classic UNC teams (preferably championship teams), more autographed jerseys and a North Carolina Tar Heels billiard pool balls set for my future pool table.

If you are going to have a UNC man cave, then you have to do it right. You have to go whole hog, baby!
