In 2015, the North Carolina Tar Heels were undefeated in conference play. Entering the 2015 ACC Football Championship, North Carolina was 11-1 and Clemson was 12-0.

North Carolina has to get past Clemson or Florida State in order to make the College Football Playoff.  The ACC will continue to run through Frank Howard Field at Clemson Memorial Stadium, better known as ‘Death Valley.’

Some people may disagree and say that Florida State is the team to beat in the ACC this season. It is safe to say that both Clemson and Florida State are threats to Carolina making the College Playoff since they are ranked in the top five in the coaches poll.

UNC will face Florida State in the regular season and a win certainly helps their chances in the College Football Playoff. If the Tigers then beat the Seminoles in their regular season matchup, it would help UNC.

The Tar Heels could then meet the Tigers in a rematch of the ACC Championship Game. With a win there, it would give the Tar Heels two BIG wins on their resume.

Carolina’s toughest regular season opponents will be Georgia, Florida State, Miami and Duke. Winning those games will go a long way.

Carolina’s chances of winning the Coastal Division depend on whether they defeat their tough matchups. With Carolina’s high-octane offense, games will be shootout contests between UNC and their opponents. UNC’s opponents have to worry about slowing down the numerous weapons at Trubisky’s disposal.

Based on Carolina’s level of success last season, I think they have a really, good chance to do more this season.
