Reason No. 1 – UNC’s 2016 offense is very explosive

In 2015, UNC led the Atlantic Coast Conference with 40.7 points per game. North Carolina’s points per game average surpassed Clemson’s, which was 38.5.

Although UNC has a different quarterback under helm this season, their offense will not change that much. Mitch Trubisky will start at quarterback for the Tar Heels this season.

In 2015, UNC defeated Delaware 41-14. In this game, Trubisky completed 17-of-20 passes for 312 yards with four touchdowns. With this performance, Trubisky set a single-game UNC record with a pass efficiency rating of 282.

This performance indicates that Trubisky can carry the torch that was once held by Williams.

Some people think that Trubisky has a better arm compared to Marquise Williams.

Personally, I am neutral when it comes to comparing the two. However, I will make this statement. Carolina’s offense will not decline since Trubisky replaces Williams.

When you think about all-conference players Elijah Hood, Ryan Switzer and Mack Hollins, North Carolina can score from all over the field and in a variety of ways. Heck, I wouldn’t be surprised if Carolina averaged 45 points per game.
