Bug Howard’s real name is Johnathan Jamaul Howard. His nickname “Bug” came from his grandmother who called him that when he was a child.

Howard stands at 6’5″ 210 lbs. Coupled with his skill set, Bug Howard is poised to ‘bug out’ in 2016. With the graduation of Quinshad Davis, Howard becomes the No. 3 wide receiver behind Mack Hollins and Ryan Switzer.

Howard has had three solid seasons in Chapel Hill playing behind several all-conference players. He enters his senior season with 90 receptions, 1,179 yards and nine touchdowns.

Last season, Howard ranked third in the ACC with a 17.2 yard average per catch. UNC teammate Hollins led the ACC and NCAA with 25.4 yards per catch. This indicates how close Howard is to becoming a standout player for the Tar Heels; rather one of several indicators. Opponents will have fits trying to cover Carolina’s receivers. UNC’s top three, which includes Howard, is one of the best wideout trios in the nation.

Take your time and get to know Bug Howard.
