No. 4: Elijah Hood – Focal Point of a balanced offense

Elijah Hood is Carolina’s premiere running back in the offense. Although T.J. Logan is a good running back, Logan is a smaller back who maintains a finesse-style of running. Hood represents the power running back for the Tar Heels.

If Hood would have chosen another school, then Logan would be the starter. Since this is not the case, Hood is his neighbor who starts in the backfield.

Hood is actually an every-down back. Carolina has a potent offense including Mack Hollins, Ryan Switzer, Mitch Trubisky, Logan and Hood. All of these players are threats individually.

However, Hood is the one player North Carolina needs on the football field. Hood was one of the main reasons Carolina led the ACC with 40.7 points per game last season. He cannot be replaced as evidenced in the video here:
