Elijah Hood will be better than last year.

Numbers don’t lie. As a sophomore, Hood rushed for 1,463 yards, averaged 6.7 yards per carry and netted 17 touchdowns. Now, that Hood has the opportunity to get the ball more, he will do more.

With Williams gone to the NFL, Hood will be like a man smoking at a gas station…he will blow up! Although T.J. Logan continues to back up Hood, Logan is more of a third-down back and special teamer. Whereas Logan’s carries decreased from 119 in 2014 to 66 in 2015, Hood’s carries increased from 67 in 2014 to 218 last season.

Logan’s carries will not affect Hood’s productivity. Nothing will besides injury, which we will not entertain during this discussion. Hood should break his own single-season record for most yards set last season. Heck, Hood will probably break UNC’s record for most yards in a single season which is held by Don McCauley (1,720).

Like a fine wine, Hood gets better with time.
