Reason No. 5 – UNC Head Coach Larry Fedora

Hats off to Larry Fedora.

In 2015, he led Carolina to an 11-3 record. Prior to last season, Fedora was on the hot seat when North Carolina finished the 2014 season with a 6-7 record. Needless, Fedora is chilling right now because his seat is no longer hot.

Point blank: Fedora is a good coach. Fedora finished in second place behind Clemson’s Dabo Swinney for the 2015 ACC Coach of the Year Award. If North Carolina would have defeated Clemson in the 2015 ACC Championship, then Fedora wins the Coach of the Year Award easily. Carolina lost to Clemson 45-37.

Some people criticize the referees over a controversial offsides call during UNC’s onside kick.

Last season was no fluke.

Fedora does a great job developing players (i.e. Williams, Switzer, Hollins). He returns with several of his top players from last season. Although his defense is questionable, opponents have to slow down Carolina’s offense, which will not be an easy task.
