3.
May Stats: 32 IP, 21 ER, 29 SO, 2-4 record with a 5.91 ERA

June Stats: 28.2 IP, 9 ER, 22 SO, 0-3 record with a 2.83 ERA

When we last left Harvey he was seemed to finally have gotten over his slump with his best outing to end the month of May. Though his record has not improved, it has gotten worst, his pitching has.

He allowed 12 fewer runs in June than in May, albeit in fewer innings (he did start one less game in June than he did in May). Four of his five starts he went six innings, compared to just two such starts in May. He also allowed one run or less in three of his five starts in June, again compared to only one such start in May.

Also don’t count his three losses against him. In two of those losses he allowed only one run. Starting pitchers who allow only one run are expected to record the W. The fact that he recorded the L says more about the Mets’ hitting than Harvey’s pitching.
. . . Matt Harvey. SP. team
