Although his time at UNC was short-lived, Bob McAdoo is one of the most beloved Tar Heels of all time. After being named a Junior College All-American as a sophomore in 1970, he enrolled at UNC in 1971 to play under head coach Dean Smith.
In his lone season at North Carolina, McAdoo averaged 19.5 points and 10.1 rebounds per game, leading the Tar Heels to a 29-5 record and a Final Four appearance.
McAdoo got taken second overall in the 1972 draft by the Buffalo Braves and won NBA Rookie of the Year in 1973. He would go on to win two titles as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers while racking up three NBA scoring titles and five All-Star appearances.
McAdoo continued his winning ways by snagging three NBA championships as an assistant coach of the Miami Heat.
