LaGarde and Chilcutt both played on eventual NBA Champions. LaGarde played for Seattle Supersonics in 1979. Chilcutt played the Houston Rockets in 1995. However despite getting a ring, neither player was overly impressive as a NBA player.

LaGarde had the better stats (7.6 points and 5.1 rebounds compared to 4.3 points and 3.3 rebounds for Chilcutt). However, Chilcutt had the longer career (9 seasons as opposed to 5 for LaGarde). Neither player was overly stellar in the playoffs either, with LaGarde providing nothing and Chilcutt very little.

Since their careers ended, LaGarde and Chilcutt have taken very different paths. LaGarde refurbished an old mill which has since become the Haw River Ballroom. Chilcutt is now a sixth grade math and science teacher in California
