UNC Basketball: Brice Johnson’s biggest moments as a Tar Heel
One Final Shot at Duke
Three trips to Cameron Indoor Stadium. Three losses.
Brice Johnson, Marcus Paige and company hadn’t left Durham with the feeling of victory during their first three years at the University of North Carolina. On March 5th, 2016 it marked their last opportunity to do so. The stakes were high with the ACC regular season title on the line and a chance to ruin Senior Night for the Dukies.
They did. And Johnson had a monster game.
He recorded another of his league-leading double-doubles, gathering 18 points and 21 rebounds in 35 minutes of play. He had 12 offensive rebounds and hit all six of his free throw attempts.
A late surge from the Blue Devils couldn’t save them and the Tar Heels won the game 76-72. Johnson’s aggressive play in the post was the catalyst for the victory and an exclamation point on his final regular season game as a collegiate.
