The Oop to End All Oops

In December of 2013, No. 11 Kentucky visited Chapel Hill for a non-conference matchup against the Tar Heels in front of a raucous crowd at the Dean E. Smith Center.

In the closing minutes of the game up by five, Johnson got his hands on a loose ball which resulted in a run-out to the opposite end of the court. He passed it to Marcus Paige on the fast break who immediately tossed the ball back into the air, high above the rim. With a quick leap and catch, Johnson threw down a resounding dunk that put an exclamation mark on the game.

With the crowd going wild and momentum in their favor, the Heels capitalized and closed out the game, beating the Wildcats 82-77. Thereafter, that play would simply be remembered by UNC fans as “the time Brice dunked on Kentucky”.
