Alternate Options: Nate Britt, Seventh Woods, Stilman White

This is one of the two easiest selections on the team. Berry II was the Point Guard for all of last season. Having gotten the opportunity to play early his freshman season, Berry II really found his groove this past season.

He led the team in steals and tied Marcus Paige for Assists. He was also second on the team in scoring, including scoring double digits in 23 of the last 26 games of the season. With Joel Berry II at the point, the Carolina offense will continue to flow much like last season.

Roy Williams does have two other options this season. One is Britt, who will most assuredly share the point guard load with Berry this season, but who is just a step below Berry in overall talent.

The other is Seventh Woods, the touted freshman from South Carolina. Woods is a combo guard in the mold of an Allen Iverson or Isaiah Thomas (the Boston Celtics version). However, I don’t see Roy handing the job over to a freshman when a quality upper classman is there.

Of course there is also Stilman White, who does have experience as a starter. However, last season he was relegated to mop up duty and I don’t see that changing with the stable of guards Roy continues to have in his arsenal.
