In the last five drafts and average of 11 quarterbacks are drafted each year. Williams currently ranks as the 26th best quaterbacks in the draft.

Williams improved his stock every season he played at UNC. He went from career backup to fill in starter when Bryn Renner went down in 2013. His ascension matched a Tar Heel turnaround as they won five of their last six to clinch a bowl birth. He shared reps in 2014 before taking over full time again leading a Tar Heel renaissance. In 2015 he was the undisputed leader of a team that stayed in the National Title picture for most of the season.

Williams is strong and he can run. However he has accuracy issues, often seen in his many over throws and 10 interceptions last season. Best case scenario a team grabs him in the seventh round to develop into a backup and maybe starter. More likely he goes undrafted and catches on with a team’s practice squad. Williams deserves better than Darian Durant, but his fortune may be similar (Durant has been successful in the Canadian league where he won a Championship in 2014).
