Heels in the Pros: NBA Highlights from former UNC Tar Heels
Harrison Barnes/James Michael McAdoo
Harrison Barnes starts for the Golden State Warriors at the small forward position. During games, he mans the power forward position, also. During the 2016 NBA Playoffs, Barnes has had mediocre performances thus far.
In the opening round of the NBA playoffs, the Warriors are facing the Houston Rockets. In game one, Barnes finished the game with seven points and seven rebounds in 32 minutes. Golden State beat Houston 104-78. Barnes made three of his 12 field goals.
In game two, Barnes had six points and five rebounds in 33 minutes. Golden State won game two, 115-106. In game three, Barnes played 24 minutes, but shot better from the field. He finished the game with nine points, two rebounds and two assists. In this game, he made three of his seven field goals. Golden State lost to Houston, 97-96. James Michael McAdoo played eight minutes in game three. McAdoo finished the game with one point, four rebounds and two blocks. McAdoo scored when he connected on one of his free throws.
Although Barnes is not shooting well, his value remains in his versatility playing both forward positions. Stephen Curry did not play in games two and three. If Curry does not play in game four, then Barnes will need to step up and fill the void at scoring for Golden State.
