Shooting slump? What shooting slump?

Marcus Paige recently spoke about how the NCAA Tournament was a new start to the season. He wasn’t just giving lip service.

Paige has looked like the guard that many came to refer to as “second half Marcus”, a name he landed after a handful of extraordinary late-game performances during his sophomore season.

After a seemingly endless cold spell during the regular season, Paige is scorching the nets in the NCAA Tournament, hitting 13 of 27 three-point attempts through the first four games. It’s shooting like this that helps Brice Johnson and the North Carolina bigs perform so well in the low post.

When UNC hits their outside shots, it opens up their entire offense. Defenders have to stay honest and double-teams leave shooters open to knock down open shots. If the Tar Heels are able to continue hitting outside shots, don’t be surprised to see them cut down the nets in Houston.
