Busted Bracket. That is usually where I am after the first weekend of games.  In all my years of doing brackets I have had one good bracket and that was back in 2005.

Since then, busted bracket after busted bracket, and this year is no different.

This time around I correctly picked six of the sweet 16 correctly. In other words I have as many teams right as the ACC has left in the tournament. And it gets worse from there. I only have three elite teams left and two final four. My champion is still in place and so is my runner up, but needless to say, my bracket is busted.

But I am sure I am not the only one. According to ESPN, of the over 13 million to participate in this year’s challenge only 17 picked the sweet 16 correctly and none of those 17 have a perfect bracket overall.

Of course that’s what happens when one of the top three teams loses in the first round (thanks a lot Michigan St). It is also what happens when one conference dominates the rest.

The ACC has a record six teams left in this years tournament. That’s 37.5 percent of the field.

The conference is 12-1 so far this post season with the lone blemish being a four point loss by Pitt. To put this into perspective, the Big Ten and Big 12, two conferences considered by many to be the best, have that many teams combined.

The other 29 conferences have four teams left. In other words the ACC has shown why they have more Championships than any other conference. To add to that none of the six teams play each other this round meaning it could be a three quarters ACC Elite Eight.

So with so many brackets busted and one conference dominating the rest, it is time to reset as the Sweet 16 prepares for Thursday. So how do these 16 teams stack up?

Glad you asked because the KIH rankings guru has reached way down and pulled out the sweetest of all the rankings. So lets get started as always with five teams that are lucky to even be here.

Note: Last Week is Place in Conference, Last Rank is Seed in region
