The football season might be over but it’s a good time to check out the updated UNC class of 2017 recruits

Head Coach Larry Fedora and the North Carolina Tar Heels are coming off one of the most successful football seasons in school history and are looking to continue that trend in 2016.

After securing a top-30 recruiting class in 2016, the Tar Heels are off to a strong start for the class of 2017. Currently, six high school juniors have committed to play for the University of North Carolina in the fall of 2017. Of those six, five are considered 4-star football players by 247Sports. For the time being, that’s good for eighth best in the country behind the usual suspects like Alabama and Ohio State.

Larry Fedora’s good fortune on the recruiting trail is no doubt a reflection of the team’s success on the field. After an 11-win season, Fedora hopes to continue seeing four and five-star recruits consider attending the University of North Carolina. In years passed, UNC recruiting would have been far less competition to the country’s biggest and most prevalent programs. As it stands, the Tar Heels are in the midst of a lot of heated recruiting battles and poised to steal some big-time recruits from perennial national championship contenders.

According to Rivals.com, North Carolina has four players in the top 250 committed for the class of 2017. Take a look at the newest UNC commits who will be suiting up for the Heels in 2017.
