Brice Johnson is your frontrunner for the ACC Player of the Year

With all due respect to North Carolina State’s Cat Barber, Johnson should be the frontrunner to win the award. Johnson once again put on a show recording a double-double in the first half and got anything he wanted against Duke’s defense.

The Blue Devils really had no answer for Brice or the Tar Heels big men all game. So the question remains, why did UNC go away from Johnson?

Paige alluded that the Blue Devils were denying the ball to Brice late. But not getting the ball to Johnson at crucial times late doomed the Tar Heels. There was even an eight minute stretch where Johnson didn’t record a shot attempt in the second half.

Johnson can’t do it all himself when the Tar Heels make a run in the NCAA Tournament, so someone else has to step up. Any takers?
