Seventh Woods

Carolina has an elite big man, has an elite wing player, but doesn’t have a point guard yet in the Class of 2016. Seventh Woods could be that elite point guard for Roy Williams. Woods took an official visit to Chapel Hill over this past weekend.

The consensus from Twitter was that Woods enjoyed his visit. Read more about it from Inside Carolina…

Seventh Woods is ranked 53rd in the ESPN 100 and is the best player in South Carolina according to a plethora of recruiting services, including 247 Sports. It looks like it will be a battle of the Carolinas for Woods — both UNC and USC are putting on the full court press for 6’1″ combo guard.

South Carolina may be ahead according to the 247 Crystal Ball, but this weekend’s visit may have changed things.

Roy Williams has done an excellent job building his 2016 recruiting class so far. Brandon Robinson and Tony Bradley are two great pieces to add to Carolina’s nucleus for the 2016-17 basketball season. However, the Tar Heels could still have a shot at one or even all  three of these remaining recruits. Stay tuned to Keeping It Heel for updates as Roy Williams and his staff continue to grind it out on the recruiting trail for Giles, Woods, Markkanen and others.
