Briefs on some of UNC’s top recruits

Jalen Dalton, DE; 4-stars (ESPN)

Dalton is the No. 8 DE in the 2015 class according to ESPN and signed with UNC as he has enrolled into classes on January 7. Dalton had an impressive showing in the Under Armour All-Star Game this year.

The pass-rusher is one of the best in the class and is the biggest signee for the Tar Heels this season. Dalton has the chance to be one of the elite pass rushers in college football within the next few years and could have an impact for the Heels as early as next year.

Ty’Son Williams, RB; 4-stars (ESPN)

Williams is one of the best running back recruits in the nation. The 6-foot, 202 pound running backs was recruited by Wisconsin, Notre Dame, South Carolina and other teams but decided to sign early with the Heels

Tommy Hatton, C; 4-stars (ESPN)

Hatton had a nice showing at the Under Armour All-Star Game practices this year and is said to be one of the better centers in the country. Hatton is the future of the Heels offensive line and had offers from South Carolina and Virginia Tech before settling on UNC.

Jason Strowbridge, DE; 4-stars (ESPN)

Strowbridge might be one of the biggest gets for Coach Larry Fedora this year. The recruit from Florida made a last-minute decision and flipped his recruitment from Kentucky to Carolina. That pairs him with Dalton as the potential for two dominant rushers on the edge.

Carl Tucker, TE; 4-stars (ESPN)

Tucker grades as a 81 on ESPN and is a 6-foot-2 tight end that will hopefully fill in nicely to the Tar Heels offense. Tucker can also serve as a wide receiver as he is listed as an athlete on recruiting sites. He chose UNC over offers from Clemson, Tennessee, East Carolina and Penn State.

Next, let’s see if the Heels are still in the mix for any blue chip prospects deciding on National Signing Day…
