#2 Tommy Hatton
The two biggest prizes of the Tar Heel’s recruiting class are two lineman, Tommy Hatton and Jalen Dalton. Hatton is a four star prospect out of St. Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, New Jersey. He is a 6’2” center who is ranked as the second best at his position according to Scout.com.
Hatton did not enroll early, so he will be a bit behind when he enters the program over the summer. But Hatton will still likely push starting center Lucas Crowley for the starting job before the start of the season.
Hatton impressed at the Under Armor All-American game and throughout the showcase circuit this Winter.
I will be interested to see how much playing time Hatton gets next season. The line is returning all five starters, but Hatton might be talented enough to push his way into the starting five.
Even if he doesn’t play right away, he was still a huge pickup for the Tar Heels.
Next: Jalen Dalton
