Third Tier (not right now)

Basically this is for players I believe will be good for the Heels in the future, but aren’t there yet. This is a very deep roster which means some players just have to wait their turn. The players in this tier are, in my opinion, future starters for this club.

Joel Berry II – #2

Now hold on before I get ripped to shreds for this. I’m not saying I don’t have confidence in this young man to develop into something at some point. Right now, however, he’s a prospect for Roy Williams. For the season he’s playing 11 minutes a game, with 3.2 ppg, 1.2 apg, 0.5 spy, while shooting 75% from the free throw line.

I’d like to think if he wasn’t playing behind Marcus Paige, Justin Jackson, and Nate Britt his numbers would substantially increase due to more chances. He’ll be a starter for the Heels in the future, just not now.

Theo Pinson – #1

It really was a shame that Pinson’s season ended abruptly with an injury. He wasn’t a consistent performer for the Heels by any stretch (3.3 PPG, 3.7 RPG, 2 APG) this season, but time on the floor with great players like Marcus Paige was doing wonders for him.

He was playing about 15 minutes a game this year and that was the biggest thing he needed coming into the season was experience. His athletic ability is second to none and if he could “figure it out” so to speak by getting that valuable playing experience, his ceiling is very high as a basketball player.
