Chance for back to back bowl wins

If the Tar Heels win the Quick Lane bowl, that would mean the Heels would win back to back bowl games under Coach Larry Fedora. Remember, the Heels also won last year’s Belk Bowl in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Tar Heels haven’t won back to back bowls since 1995 to 1998, when Carolina won four straight bowl games under Coaches Mack Brown and Carl Torbush. The Heels won the 1995 CarQuest Bowl, two straight Gator Bowls in 1997 and 1998 and the 1998 Las Vegas Bowl. That 1997 season was also the last time the Tar Heels were ranked at the end of the season, finishing up #6 in the AP Poll.

Winning bowl games leads to positive momentum for the program. Recruits love to see their schools go, compete and beat other teams from around the country on National T.V. Winning back to back bowl games would be huge for the Tar Heel football program to keep building positive momentum.
