Chance for a winning record
The Tar Heels hold a 6-6 record coming into the Quick Lane Bowl, and a win would give the Tar Heels a winning record on the season, their third winning record under Coach Larry Fedora. A win would extend the Heel’s streak of winning seasons to seven years, going back to 2008, when the Heels went 8-5. (Yes, those wins were vacated, but we will count them anyway.)
Keeping that streak of winning seasons alive is no small matter. To keep building up this program, Larry Fedora needs to keep taking steps forward with this football team and try to not take any more steps back. Getting a win in the Quick Lane Bowl would be big because it would lead to another winning record for the season.
